Marty Linsky (#20 in the picture above), currently a senior at Briar Woods High School, started training at Hoops in 2014.  Marty was a 4-year player at Briar Woods, where he was chosen captain by his coaches all four years.

Thanks to his training at Hoops, Marty first developed a solid mid-range game in middle school, earning the nickname “Mid-Range Marty”.

After his freshman year at Briar, he worked diligently in the off-season with his Hoops trainers to develop a consistent 3-point shot. His production increased on the JV team, and he was pulled up to varsity at the end of his sophomore year.

In addition to being named team captain and getting pulled up to varsity, Marty’s high school highlights include a career high 17 in front of a packed house on the road against Jefferson High School in Charles Town, West Virginia, and winning the coaches award for team work and leadership at the end of the year. Marty also loved his time as a Hoops player, his favorite tournament experience being a trip to Hampton, Virginia to play in the prestigious Boo Williams Invitational.

Marty excels in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society, and was voted by his senior peers as “person most likely to become a motivational speaker”. He will continue his academic journey this fall at the University of Maryland where he plans to study business.

Marty credits his Hoops trainers and coaches with with his development not only as a player, but as a leader on and off the court.
